Fox Corp. benoemt Nicholas Trutanich tot general counsel bij grote wisseling in juridische top

Adam Ciongoli stapt per 1 december op maar blijft special adviser tot juni 2028 terwijl het bedrijf de lopende overname van Roku voortzet.

Fox Corp. ondergaat een belangrijke transitie in de hoogste juridische functies. Adam Ciongoli, chief legal and policy officer van het bedrijf, verlaat zijn functie op 1 december zonder zijn contract te verlengen. Hij blijft het mediabedrijf ondersteunen als special adviser tot juni 2028.

Nicholas Trutanich neemt rol van general counsel over

Nicholas Trutanich, momenteel executive vice president en principal deputy general counsel bij Fox Corp., neemt de positie van general counsel over. Trutanich rapporteert rechtstreeks aan executive chair en ceo Lachlan Murdoch. De stap komt op een moment dat het bedrijf werkt aan de voorgenomen overname van streamingdienst Roku.

Aandeelhouders van beide bedrijven hebben de transactie van 22 miljard dollar al goedgekeurd. De deal heeft nog goedkeuring nodig van het ministerie van Justitie en wordt in de eerste helft van 2027 afgerond.

Ciongoli brengt ruime ervaring mee uit media, finance en overheid

Ciongoli trad in 2023 in dienst bij Fox Corp. nadat hij general counsel en chief sustainability, corporate responsibility and governance officer was geweest bij Campbell Soup Co. Eerdere functies omvatten general counsel-posities bij Lincoln Financial Group, Willis Group Holdings PLC en Time Warner Europe. Daarvoor werkte hij als counselor van voormalig U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, chief counsel van een subcommissie van de Amerikaanse Senaat en als law clerk van Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr.

Trutanich brengt achtergrond als federaal aanklager mee naar uitgebreide taken

Trutanich was eerder U.S. Attorney voor het District of Nevada van 2019 tot 2021. Hij bekleedde ook senior posities bij het kantoor van de Nevada attorney general en werkte als federaal aanklager bij het Department of Justice. Daarvoor was hij litigator en diende hij als federal law clerk.
