Serie van BBC Studios Audio opent op 21 september zijn fictieve gotische deuren met wekelijkse afleveringen over Poe, Stoker en meer.

Colin Morgan, bekend van zijn rol in Merlin, en Katie Leung, bekend uit de Harry Potter-films, zullen hun stemmen lenen aan The Haunted Library, een nieuwe podcastserie over klassieke griezelverhalen.

De productie presenteert voorlezingen vanuit een fictieve gotische bibliotheek die op 21 september zijn deuren opent. BBC Studios Audio verzorgt de productie en financiering van de serie, die put uit werken van auteurs als Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Algernon Blackwood en M.R. James.

Wekelijkse uitzendingen beginnen met Jekyll and Hyde-bewerking

Twee afleveringen per week verschijnen op de grote podcastplatforms en BBC Sounds. Luisteraars die zich abonneren op The Haunted Library Plus via Apple Podcasts krijgen vroegtijdige toegang en reclamevrije afspeelmogelijkheden.

De serie opent met Robert Louis Stevensons The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Daarna volgen vertolkingen van Frankenstein, The Turn of the Screw, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Carmilla en The Invisible Man.
