Last Man in Tower krijgt releasedatum 11 september bij uitbrengen teaser

Manoj Bajpayee en Boman Irani werken voor het eerst samen in verfilming van Aravind Adiga, geproduceerd door Rana Daggubati.

De film Last Man in Tower staat gepland om op 11 september in Indiase bioscopen te openen, en de eerste teaser is nu uitgebracht.

Manoj Bajpayee speelt de hoofdrol als Masterji, een gepensioneerde leraar wiens stille verzet tegen zijn buren golven veroorzaakt in de gemeenschap. Het verhaal onderzoekt de moeilijke keuzes die mensen maken wanneer ze verandering wordt aangeboden en wat ze uiteindelijk besluiten te beschermen.

Eerste gezamenlijke optreden van Bajpayee en Irani

Onder regie van Ben Rekhi en geproduceerd door Rana Daggubati via zijn bedrijf Spirit Media brengt het project Bajpayee en Boman Irani voor het eerst samen op het scherm. Divya Dutta completeert het centrale trio, met Sukant Goel eveneens in de cast.

Het scenario is van Sooni Taraporevala, die Aravind Adiga’s roman bewerkte, terwijl Juhi Chaturvedi de Hindi-dialoog schreef. Adiga won eerder de Booker Prize voor The White Tiger.

Spirit Media lanceert eerste Hindi-speelfilm

De release markeert een belangrijke stap voor Spirit Media, het in Hyderabad gevestigde productiehuis dat Daggubati in 2005 oprichtte. Dit project wordt het eerste Hindi-talige speelfilm van het bedrijf.

De muziek is gecomponeerd door Govind Vasantha, met cinematografie door Rangarajan Ramabadran. Extra producenten zijn Guneet Dogra en Pratiksha Rao. Rekhi, woonachtig in Los Angeles, regisseerde eerder de SXSW Audience Award-winnaar Waterborne en Watch List, die 11 nominaties kreeg bij de Filipijnse Oscars.
