De politie van Lake Havasu City zei dat ze de mobiele telefoon van Sheets hebben ingediend voor forensisch onderzoek. Onderzoekers blijven beschuldigingen bekijken dat online intimidatie een rol speelde in de zaak.

The Lake Havasu City Police Department has received confirmation from the Mohave County Medical Examiner's Office that the manner of death in the investigation involving Darrell Sheets has been ruled a suicide, pending the completion of toxicology results. Our agency continues to actively investigate allegations of cyberbullying associated with this case. The Criminal Investigations Unit has submitted Darrell Sheets' cellular phone for forensic analysis and is currently awaiting the results.

Castlid beschrijft online kwelling voor overlijden

Rene Nezhoda, een mede-castlid van Storage Wars, plaatste kort na het overlijden op Instagram dat iemand Sheets online meedogenloos had geïntimideerd. Nezhoda hoopte dat de politie de acties van het individu grondig zou onderzoeken.
