Van Bommel zoekt Bouwman op in Ajax-kleedkamer, Klaassen vindt het een rode kaart

PSV won the tumultuous top match against Ajax 3-1, but the game was overshadowed by a hard foul by PSV attacker Ruben van Bommel on Ajax defender Aaron Bouwman. Van Bommel hit Bouwman in the face with his upper body. Bouwman was taken to hospital for precautionary scans and was reportedly not feeling well afterwards. Ajax captain Davy Klaassen believed the incident deserved a red card, although he did not think Van Bommel acted deliberately. PSV defender Armando Obispo said Van Bommel was deeply affected and immediately focused on Bouwman after the final whistle. Van Bommel later visited the Ajax defender in the dressing room to apologise. Obispo and Klaassen both acknowledged that Ajax appears to have improved compared with last season, even though PSV ultimately won convincingly.
