De acteur deelt behind-the-scenes beelden en hartelijke dank voorafgaand aan de bioscooprelease in maart 2028

Vin Diesel deelde deze week een behind-the-scenes update op Instagram vanaf de set van “Fast Forever,” het elfde en laatste deel in de langlopende The Fast and the Furious-serie. De film staat gepland voor release in de bioscopen op 17 maart 2028.

Diesel prijst fans om hun standvastige steun

In de post beschreef Diesel het intense werk op de set en uitte hij waardering voor het publiek dat de franchise al jaren volgt. Hij merkte op dat het productieteam de afgelopen drieënhalf jaar heeft gewerkt aan wat hij hoopt dat een buitengewoon slot van de saga wordt.

I’m on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working. I just wanted to take a second to say thank you. You guys are the best audience in the world, best fans in the world. You’ve been patient to the industry, you’ve been patient to the studio and you’ve been patient with me. Over the past three and a half years, we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale.

Diesel noemde ook andere projecten die hij tijdens de verlengde productietijdlijn heeft opgepakt, waaronder een hoofdrol en schrijfopdracht in een aankomende “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots”-film voor Mattel Studios. Hij benadrukte dat de steun van fans een constante bron van motivatie is gebleven.

Erfenis van de franchise en box office-mijlpalen

Sinds de eerste film in 2001 in première ging, heeft de The Fast and the Furious-serie wereldwijd meer dan $7 miljard aan kaartverkoop opgebracht, waarmee het Universal Pictures’ best verdienende en langstlopende eigendom is. “Furious 7” is tot nu toe de best verdienende film, met $1,5 miljard wereldwijd.

Uitbreiding naar televisie brengt meer verhalen naar Peacock

In mei kondigde Diesel tijdens de NBCUniversal upfront-presentatie aan dat een nieuw Fast & Furious-televisie-universum in ontwikkeling is bij Peacock. Het platform lanceert vier series die zich afspelen in de bestaande wereld en voortbouwen op bestaande personages en hun verhalen.

For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more. They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space... It became right when Donna Langley started to oversee it all, because that’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family would be protected in the TV space… The news that I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the ‘Fast and Furious’ universe.
