Ervaren communicatiebestuurder vertrekt voor nieuwe uitdaging na recente herstructurering

Naomi Bulochnikov-Paul stapt op als EVP Communications voor Disney Entertainment Television na acht jaar bij het bedrijf. Ze maakte de stap bekend in een memo aan haar team en liet weten dat ze vertrekt om een nieuwe uitdaging aan te gaan. Details over haar volgende functie worden de komende weken verwacht.

Bulochnikov-Paul bouwde haar carrière op bij verschillende Disney-merken

Bulochnikov-Paul begon in maart 2017 bij Disney als VP Communications bij Freeform, kort na de rebranding van ABC Family. Ze kreeg al vroeg erkenning voor het organiseren van de eerste top van het netwerk in januari 2018. Na een kort verblijf van negen maanden bij Netflix keerde ze in oktober 2018 terug bij Freeform en groeide snel door. Ze kreeg steeds meer verantwoordelijkheden die ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Kids & Family, Disney Television Studios, FX, Hulu Originals en National Geographic Content omvatten.

Haar promoties volgden een gestage lijn. In 2019 werd ze SVP of Communications voor ABC Entertainment, in 2021 EVP, Publicity voor ABC & General Entertainment en in 2023 EVP, Publicity and Head of Communications voor Disney General Entertainment. In die rol verzorgde ze ook de communicatie voor Dana Walden tijdens haar periode als co-voorzitter van Disney Entertainment.

Recente structuurwijzigingen gingen aan haar vertrek vooraf

In april veranderde de positie van Bulochnikov-Paul licht onder de nieuwe communicatiestructuur die Disney-CEO Josh D’Amaro had ingevoerd. Ze bleef EVP, Communications, Disney Entertainment Television en rapporteerde aan de nieuw benoemde DET-voorzitter Debra O'Connell en Disney Chief Communications Officer Paul Roeder. De dagelijkse communicatie voor Walden, nu president en chief creative officer van Disney, ging over naar EVP April Carretta.

Het vertrek heeft niets te maken met de recente vrijwillige vervroegde uittredingsregeling of de laatste ontslagronde, die DET niet raakte. Bulochnikov-Paul kwam niet in aanmerking voor de regeling vanwege haar leeftijd en dienstjaren.

Bestuurder blikt in afscheidsbrief terug op team en mentoren

Team, I want to share with you all that after eight extraordinary years, I will be leaving Disney to pursue a new opportunity. There is so much I will carry with me from my time here, but nothing more meaningful than the privilege of leading this incredible, powerhouse team. Together, we’ve navigated defining moments for our company, championed our talented leaders and creators, and helped our shows and stories break through and become part of the culture. We’ve also weathered our share of challenges and met every single one of them with sound judgment, creativity, resilience and most importantly, a real commitment to one another. And somehow – through it all – we always managed to make the impossible look entirely planned. You are all exceptional communicators, but even more importantly, exceptional people. I have been inspired daily by your talent, your integrity and the genuine care you bring to the work, and to each other. I’m deeply grateful to Dana, whose trust and mentorship have shaped my career in countless ways; to Paul, for his leadership and friendship; and to Debra, whose support and generosity of spirit I’ve valued and benefited from greatly over many years and many roles. Disney is where I was raised professionally, and I will be forever grateful to the many colleagues who helped shape me along the way, and have become not only trusted collaborators, but also close friends. Thank you for your partnership, your friendship, your humor and your heart. Belangenbehartiging reikt verder dan haar corporate rol

Buiten haar werk heeft Bulochnikov-Paul zich ingezet voor onderzoek naar en bewustwording van multiple sclerose. Zelf heeft ze MS en ontving ze eerder dit jaar de Medal of Hope Award van Race to Erase MS. Eerder werkte ze bij Sony Pictures TV, Current TV en MTV.
