Het bouwpakket van 1.478 stuks verschijnt in augustus met minifiguren, gelaagde displays en een cadeau bij aankoop voor vroege kopers.

Fans van de klassieke sciencefictionserie kunnen binnenkort hun eigen stukje The X-Files-lore bouwen, nu LEGO zijn eerste officiële bouwpakket op basis van de serie lanceert.

De nieuwe set bevat belangrijke elementen uit de langlopende serie, waaronder de rommelige werkplek van Fox Mulder en een aparte bosscène met een buitenaardse aanwezigheid.

Setontwerp vangt iconisch kantoor en mysterieuze bosontmoeting

De bouwset bevat 1.478 onderdelen en heeft een adviesprijs van 199,99 dollar. Het hoofdgdeel bootst Fox Mulders kantoor na, compleet met Dana Scully naast hem, de beroemde poster 'I Want to Believe' en potloden die in het plafond steken. Een tweede laag toont een zwevende ufo tussen bomen en een alien die klaarstaat om ontdekt te worden. Bouwers kunnen de twee delen los van elkaar plaatsen voor een eigen display.

Acht minifiguren horen bij de set: Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, The Flukeman en een grijze alien.

Fanontwerper brengt decennia nostalgie naar officiële release

De Australische 3D-artiest en fanontwerper Brent Waller bedacht het oorspronkelijke concept voor een LEGO Ideas '90s Nostalgia Challenge. LEGO keurde het project vorig jaar goed, waarna het in productie ging. De set is vanaf 1 augustus toegankelijk voor early access-leden en vanaf 4 augustus voor alle klanten.

I didn't expect to be stepping back into Scully's heels to investigate a LEGO set ... it has been so much fun revisiting that world all these years later. This set is a wonderful celebration of the X-Files, and the fans who have kept its mystery alive. The level of detail is brilliant – there are so many little nods that fans will absolutely recognise – and as a LEGO fan myself, I love that people can now quite literally build their own X-Files moments at home.

I was obsessed with The X-Files from the moment I first saw it in the '90s. I originally built Mulder's office back in 2014 while rewatching the series, and it grew from there as a personal project. I wanted to combine nostalgia, detail and storytelling to capture the atmosphere of the show – from Mulder's office to the forest and UFO encounter. I'm thrilled to see it become an official LEGO set and hope it resonates with both long-time fans and new audiences.
