Het achtste studioalbum van de popster inspireert een lentetournee door Canada en de Verenigde Staten.

Carly Rae Jepsen heeft plannen onthuld voor haar “Day and Night” 2027 Noord-Amerikaanse tour. De reeks omvat headline-optredens in het Kia Forum in Los Angeles en Madison Square Garden in New York.

Tour ondersteunt achtste album met contrasterende muziekstijlen

De tour ondersteunt haar achtste album, eveneens getiteld “Day and Night.” Het dubbelalbum splitst zich tussen folk-achtige nummers en energieke dance tracks. De tour opent op 15 april in Edmonton in het Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium en gaat verder via Calgary en Vancouver voordat hij de Verenigde Staten bereikt.

Extra Amerikaanse steden op de route zijn onder meer San Francisco, Austin, Nashville en Philadelphia. Het schema keert terug naar Canada voor een datum in Ottawa en sluit af op 29 mei in Montreal in MTELUS.

Album verschenen met sterke kritische respons

Day and Night verscheen half september en kreeg brede lof voor het benadrukken van Jepsens talent als zangeres en songwriter. In een interview met Variety beschreef ze hoe het albumconcept ontstond tijdens een rit in Los Angeles.

[It] was born when I was just driving in my car here in LA. I loved its simplicity. It perfectly described this organic kind of dreamy thing, and then the nighttime, you immediately feel things get heightened and a little darker and more experimental. So then I would show up with sessions with a bit more intention and it became really fun because I knew what colors I was playing with.
