Psychologische thriller rondt opnames af in Nashville na uitbreiding van bekroonde korte film.

Amanda Righetti, bekend van The Mentalist, William Mapother, bekend van Lost, en Spencer Locke uit de Insidious-franchise behoren tot de nieuwste toevoegingen aan de cast van de psychologische horrorfilm Shed. De film heeft onlangs de opnames afgerond in Nashville, Tennessee.

Valerie Jane Parker, die te zien is in The Bikeriders, schreef het scenario en speelt Becca, een succesvolle maar emotioneel geïsoleerde jonge vrouw wier trauma uit het verleden zich fysiek begint te manifesteren vanuit haar eigen lichaam.

Extra castleden completeren het ensemble

Verdere performers zijn Kym Jackson, Armando Rivera, Lilian Rebelo uit Only Murders in the Building, Audrey Venable, Taylor Novak, Liz Atwater en Ronnie Meek. Het project is een uitbreiding van een proof-of-concept korte film van regisseur Mila Vilaplana en Parker die op tien festivals vertoond werd.

Vrouwelijk creatief team leidt de productie

Een grotendeels vrouwelijk team leidt de speelfilm via de vrouwelijke bedrijven Preacher’s Daughter Pictures en Dipsomania. Sarah Haas is producer, terwijl Parker, Chris Connor en Cole Pendery van Shadowwood Ent. als executive producers optreden.

Shed explores the intersection of grief, identity and the body through a distinctly female lens. Amanda, Spencer, and William each bring something powerful and specific to this world, and we’re thrilled to have them join the cast.

The response to the proof of concept made it clear that this story resonates. Expanding Shed into a feature gives us the chance to go deeper into trauma and transformation in a way that feels both intimate and unsettling. At its core, this is a horror story about grief, survival and the strange ways the body remembers.
